Hey it's me, Holly! Thanks for being here. Maybe we have some things in common. I grew up between West Vancouver, Gabriola Island and Muir Beach, California. On a sunny August night when I was 7 years old I was standing in a meadow in a terrible mood about not being able to hit a baseball. My mum thought taking me to the ocean might fix the problem. That night she taught me how to row. The oars didn’t fit in my hands, but I could pull, and the boat moved. I felt better. Much later on I rowed varsity at the University of Victoria. I graduated from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Critical + Cultural Theory. I studied fashion at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In my mid-twenties after working in the art world I moved to Toronto where I did a post grad in conflict resolution at Humber College. Alongside this change I was teaching fitness classes for fun. This fun and deep curiosity lead me to get certified as a Personal Trainer. I ended up staying in Toronto for four years working in various gyms, studios, hotels around the city. I think it took me my twenties to see that various disciplines merge in fitness. I think of fitness as a medium, a language, and a place for the spirit to be expressed. I am here to help others evolve who they are with the tools they already have. I should also mention the eating disorder that held me back in my twenties is one reason why I do this work. It made me a more compassionate person. It is not complicated. We need to be strong, and completely unique in how we express it. Hide
